Designed with a two part, high-tech gasket system, this damper provides an extremely effective air tight seal by utilizing a liquid gasket, which hardens to form an efficient seal. The primary gasket sits in a channel inside the damper frame, while the secondary, liquid gasket, sits underneath the front portion of the damper lid. These two gaskets provide the most efficient seal possible!  The Seal Tight Damper is made for use only with open, wood burning, masonry fireplace chimneys and is not suitable for use on chimneys serving vented gas logs.
