The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a warning that owners of certain 2000-2006 BMW models should not drive their vehicles due to the risk of the airbags exploding in a crash. The warning is for those vehicles that are equipped with faulty and dangerous airbag inflators made by Takata. The Takata airbag inflators use a volatile chemical called ammonium nitrate to inflate the airbag in case of a collision. However, exposure to heat and humidity over time can cause the chemical to deteriorate, leading to the explosion of the airbag and metal shrapnel being hurled towards the occupants, causing severe injuries. We urge our customers who own 2000-2006 BMW 3 Series, 5 Series, or X5 models to immediately park their vehicles and contact BMW for more information. BMW will provide free repairs, mobile repair services, and towing at no cost to the owners. A ring coil is fitted about the ignition lock. The transponder chip is powered by this coil from the CAS control module. This means that no battery is necessary in the key. The power supply and data transfer take place in the same way as a transformer between the loop antenna (coil) at the ignition lock and the transponder chip. The key then sends data to the CAS control module. If these data are correct, the CAS control module enables the starter by means of a relay located in the control module and additionally sends a coded start enable signal via a interface to the DME/DDE. These procedures may result in a start delay of up to half a second.     Components Interface to DME/DDEThe CAS control module sends a coded enable signal to the
