100%The charm and vivacity of a red Saint-Estèphe Second WineThe estateLocated in the north of the Médoc, on the hill of Saint-Estèphe, Château Cos d'Estournel has a majestic appearance. Like a real Maharajah's palace, the château and its pagodas astonish and captivate the eye. In 1791, Louis-Gaspard d'Estournel inherited hectares of vines and built the estate. An adventurer who travelled the world, his taste for the exotic and Eastern influences gave Château Cos d'Estournel its architecture, quite unique in the heart of Bordeaux's Left Bank. Owned by Michel Reybier since 2000, Château Cos d'Estournel continues to shine in the Saint-Estèphe appellation and joins the ranks of the world's greatest wines, distinguishing itself by its unique style where a taste for beauty and excellence are a permanent quest. The vineyardA major name among the great wines of Saint-Estèphe, Château Cos d'Estournel enjoys an exceptional geographical location. Its vineyard is located on the edge of the plateau, in the immediate vicinity of the Gironde estuary. There, the vineyard benefits from a maritime climate while being protected from severe weather. The vines are planted on two slopes and a central plateau, benefiting from a perfect orientation and good ventilation. The wineProduced since 1994 from a dedicated vineyard whose vines are on average 40 years old, Pagodes de Cos is Château Cos d'Estournel’s Second Wine. The vintageA vintage of contrasts and challenges, the frost at the end of April 2017 nevertheless spared the superb terroir of the estate. The 2017 vintage was therefore put together gradually. With the constant attention paid to the vines, perfect knowledge of the plots, experience and know-how of the technical teams, and extremely precise

86%£16.50 per bottle (6 bottle case) £17.95 per bottle ABV 13% Matthew Jukes First Taste 2024 vintage:As I talked with Sacha, he let me into a secret. He thinks 2024 is one of the finest vintages he has ever seen in Provence. And, if this wine is anything to go by, he is right. This is a seamless, languid, soothing Whispering Angel with terrific balance and immediate appeal. Sometimes, this wine takes a couple of months to get into its stride. Sometimes, it misses summer altogether, falling into equilibrium in time for turkey at Christmas, although I suspect no one notices or even cares! In 2024, it is impeccable from the off. This is justifiably the most famous / best value rosé in the world and if anyone still thinks otherwise, one sip of this beguilingly lip-smacking wine will change their minds – Chapeau!Matthew Jukes, 12th March 2025 Previous 2022 vintage-"There are precious few annual wine ‘moments’ left in our beautiful business. Beaujolais Nouveau day is an actual annual event with its very own date. The third Thursday of November has always been the day this wine goes on sale, and a couple of brave stalwarts continue raising a glass. It might be clinging on by its fingernails, but it has more integrity than the multiple grape variety ‘days’ that have faked their way into existence. The annual Penfolds Collection launch yoyos around the calendar, and even Bordeaux’s En Primeur circus tries, but usually fails, to hit the same week each year. Still, one day that has become a fixture in my diary is the new release of Whispering Angel – without fail my sample arrives on the 9th January each year! As you will be well aware, this Pink Titan sells like hotcakes, an

83%Laurent-Perrier Alexandra Rosé Magnum 2004 1.5L Founder of Laurent-Perrier Bernard de Nonancourt took the opportunity of his elder daughter Alexandra's marriage in 1987 to create this rare vintage rosé champagne. Only hand sorted grapes from the very best plots are used in the blend which is then carefully aged for at least six years in our cellars. Lively and crisp, this exclusive champagne is full-bodied with a velvety texture and aromas of wild strawberries. Tasting Notes: A delicate, pale salmon pink colour with persistent and fine bubbles. A complex nose with hints of wild strawberries and redcurrant jam, followed by notes of candied fruits. Elegant and refined, this wine shows great minerality. Its soft and dry texture leads into a long finish indicative of berry fruit with a strong presence of red fruit. Wine/Food Pairings: Reserved for the finest dishes: tempura of langoustine, roasted lobster and scallops with black truffle.
