Kalimba: Pocket Synth is a touch-first musical instrument that transforms the character of the kalimba into expressive plucks, evolving sustain textures and rhythmic performances. Combine physical-inspired E-Kalimba synthesis, sampled kalimba sounds and wavetable engines. Play directly from the configurable strips, explore different keys and scales, and shape each performance with motion, arpeggiation and effects. Create anything from natural kalimba patterns and soft melodic sequences to atmospheric pads and animated experimental textures. Features: - Expressive touch-based performance strips - E-Kalimba physical-inspired pluck and sustain engines - Sample-based kalimba engine - Wavetable pluck and sustain voices - Four assignable LFOs with editable modulation areas - Per-strip LFO assignment and visual feedback - Built-in ARP with musical patterns and timing controls - Auto Strum and Repeat performance tools - Looper with count-in, quantisation and metronome - Reverb, delay, distortion and performance effects - Configurable keys, scales and number of strips - Factory presets for acoustic, ambient and experimental sounds - MIDI In and MIDI Out - AUv3 Instrument and AUv3 MIDI Processor - Standalone operation on iPhone and iPad The LFO system lets you draw a modulation area directly onto each assigned strip. Use it to animate wavetable movement or reshape sustained E-Kalimba tones while keeping the instrument immediate and playable. The built-in looper, ARP, Repeat and Auto Strum tools make it easy to create evolving phrases without interrupting your performance. In compatible AUv3 hosts, Kalimba: Pocket Synth can work as an instrument or as a MIDI processor controlling another instrument. Designed for musicians, producers and sound explorers looking for an immediate acoustic-electronic instrument that can move naturally between melodic playing, rhythm and ambient sound design.
