LA's new speed cameras are going live across the city, 125 of them. Speed Alert LA tells you out loud when one is coming up and what the limit is, so you can ease off before you pass it. No looking at your phone. USE THE MAPS APP YOU ALREADY USE Tap Start Drive, then switch to Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze. Alerts keep coming with your phone locked, through your phone or your car speakers over Bluetooth or CarPlay. ONLY THE CAMERAS AHEAD OF YOU Speed Alert LA knows which way you're driving, so it stays quiet about cameras behind you or on cross streets. One alert per camera, no nagging. A HEADS-UP IF YOU'RE OVER Going faster than the posted limit as you approach a camera? You'll hear "Slow down." VOICES THAT SOUND HUMAN Pick from natural-sounding voices and choose when you hear the alert: 2,000, 1,300 or 800 feet out. EVERY CAMERA IN LA All 125 camera locations from LADOT's official list, with the street, the speed limit and a street-level view, on a map or in a searchable list. THE RULES, IN PLAIN ENGLISH Fines, warning periods, school zones, help for low-income drivers and how to contest a ticket, from official City of LA and California sources.
