Every country carries a five-star challenge rating based on its starting army, its manpower and wealth, and how dangerous the neighbours are. CLASSIC TURN-BASED STRATEGY, SHARPENED • Deploy reinforcements, attack across land borders and sea lanes, fortify your lines. • Dice-driven battles with clear odds before you commit. Attack one round at a time or go all-out. • Supply limits stop doom-stacks: spread along a wide front or watch your armies wither. • Capitals defend harder and hold the treasury. Capture one and loot it. BUILD AN ECONOMY, NOT JUST AN ARMY Population gives manpower. GDP gives gold. Spend it on five technologies: Military Doctrine, Fortifications, Conscription, Industry and Logistics. Or hire mercenaries when the front line is crumbling. DIPLOMACY WITH TEETH Buy truces. Receive envoys offering peace, demanding tribute or sending volunteers. Refuse them and they remember. On the hardest levels the world coordinates against you. A LIVING WORLD 172 rival nations, each with its own personality, fight, ally and fall around you. Uprisings, plagues, booms and rallies reshape the map.
