LES (Norge)2 is developed to assist foreign speakers learning how to read Norwegian. The app may be used in three ways: 1: Learning Norwegian words. 240 words arranged in 8 categories. The categories correspond to a great extent to the subjects in "Subject Curriculum for Norwegian and Social studies for adult immigrants" and are picked out in collaboration with experienced teachers. The words are presented with a picture and pronunciation. 2: Learning how the different letters sound in Norwegian (including the compound graphemes kj, skj and ng). One can choose between small and capital letters. 3:Learning to contract letters into words. When a finger is drawn over the letters in a word, the sounds are being read out and one can hear the actual word. The app contains games in each category, so the learner can practice and automate the words. This version is intended for iPhone devices.
