The MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE ("All Files Access") permission is required for this core feature to work. Without this permission, the app is "broken" and unusable because: It cannot see non-media files (like PDFs, DOCs, ZIPs, APKs). It cannot access the Download folder. It cannot access external USB drives or SD cards. The MediaStore API is not sufficient as it only provides access to media files in media folders, which breaks the app's core file management purpose.
