Capybaba Launcher is a clean, ultra-light TV launcher for Android TV, Google TV and TV boxes: under 1 MB, instant to open with no loading wait, fast and smooth. Keep the apps you use most in front, find things with one search, and play videos from web pages in a player made for the remote. YOUR HOME SCREEN • Favorites row plus all your apps – TV apps and sideloaded phone apps, each shown once • Continue watching: what your apps publish to Android TV appears at the top, and follows the favorite you focus • Folders, custom icons, icon packs (ADW / Nova format), banner or icon tiles • Hide apps you never use, and bring them back at any time • Wallpapers, dark or light theme, and accent colors ONE SEARCH • Find apps on your TV as you type • Optional web results with suggestions and SafeSearch (on by default) • A Search button next to the text field, for TV keyboards that have no search key A BROWSER BUILT FOR THE REMOTE • On-screen cursor that moves with the arrow keys • Back, forward, address bar and search in one bar • Finds MP4 and HLS videos on the page you are viewing and plays them full screen A PLAYER MADE FOR TV • Play, pause and skip 10 seconds with the remote • Playback speed, plus subtitles, quality and audio tracks when the video has them • Resume where you left off WIDGETS • Weather for your city (found automatically, or pick one) • Clock and date • 2048, playable with the remote FOR FAMILIES • PIN lock for apps, folders and settings • SafeSearch on by default; lowering it needs the PIN MORE • Remote shortcuts (optional, uses an accessibility service – see below): pick one remote button to open any app, and return to Capybaba Launcher when Home is pressed on devices that don't let you change the home app • Channels page: choose which apps may show content on your home screen • Back up your layout and settings to a file and restore it later • 17 interface languages, including Arabic (right to left) • Tiny download (under 1 MB) and no ads PRIVACY No account and no ads. Your layout, PIN, search history and playback positions stay on your TV. Anonymous usage statistics (screens opened, time spent, device model and country) help us improve the app; turn them off any time in Settings > System > Share usage statistics. ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE (AccessibilityService API) Capybaba Launcher includes an optional accessibility service, "Capybaba Launcher Accessibility Service". It stays off until you agree, and it is used only for two remote shortcuts: • Return to Capybaba Launcher when the Google TV or Android TV home screen opens. Many TVs, including Google TV, have no setting to change the home app, so this is how Capybaba Launcher can stay your home screen there. • Open an app you choose with one shortcut button on your remote. The first time you open Capybaba Launcher, it explains the service and asks for your agreement (Agree / Not now) before taking you to Android's Accessibility settings. You can open the same explanation later in Settings > Remote shortcuts. While it is on, the service receives button and key presses (remote, keyboard, game controller) but acts only on the shortcut button you chose; all other buttons work as usual. It is told when the Google TV or Android TV home screen opens. It cannot see or read the screen, and it does not save, collect or share any data: nothing leaves your device, and nothing is used for statistics or ads. You can turn it off at any time in Android Settings > Accessibility. GOOD TO KNOW • Works on Android 8.1 and later. • Continue watching and channels need the Android TV system; some TV boxes don't have it. • Capybaba Launcher does not provide movies or TV shows. Web pages and videos come from the websites you choose to open. DRM-protected video plays only in its own app. Questions or feedback: info@capybaba.io
