Основная задача нового проекта — создать в России платформу для профессиональной дискуссии об отношениях между Россией и ЕС. Экспертная сеть ЕС-Россия (EUREN) была инициирована в 2016 году Представительством ЕС в России и Российским советом по международным делам в качестве новой платформы для взаимодействия экспертов и аналитических центров ЕС и России по внешнеполитическим вопросам. EUREN — часть проекта «Общественная дипломатия. ЕС и Россия», который финансируется Европейским союзом и представляет собой платформу для диалога между российскими и европейскими аудиториями по широкому кругу двусторонних и глобальных вопросов. Проект реализуется в партнерстве с Представительством ЕС в России.
