The standard note layout of most diatonic harmonicas is very limited melodically since it’s missing the vital 6th note of the scale. In the case of a C harmonica that note is an A which should be on blow 3, but in the standard layout, the blow 3 is a G. Without that A, many songs are nearly impossible to play! The Blues Shifter solves that and gives players the notes they need to be able to play any melody they want! And it does all of that while still feeling, playing, and performing like a traditional blues harmonica when the slide is not pushed in...thus the name, Blues Shifter - because with the push of a button, it "shifts" from being a regular blues harmonica, to a melody playing machine!
