To effectively implement policies and interventions that are aimed at eradicating malnutrition in all its forms in countries, nutrition must be prioritized beyond individual sectors- it will require coordinated effort between various stakeholders. Nigeria has thus developed a coordinated approach to address the nutrition issues across sectors both at national and local levels. This strategy is outlined clearly in the National Multi-sectoral Plan of Action for Food and Nutrition, which resulted in the establishment of the National Council on Nutrition in Nigeria.
