Share a PDF report with the reading of your own file. ShutterLife reads the shutter count directly from your camera's image files, no internet, no data upload, no account required. Works on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. HOW IT WORKS Import a photo straight from your photo library or the Files app on iPhone and iPad. ShutterLife reads the file and instantly shows you the shutter count. IMPORTANT: ORIGINAL PHOTO REQUIRED The photo must be in its original format. Messaging apps like WhatsApp strip the capture data (EXIF), and the count with it, when sending. Please have the photo shared via AirDrop, email (original size), or a cloud service (iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive). CAREFULLY TESTED ShutterLife was built and tested on real camera files, not on samples or simulations. ShutterLife shows the value your camera wrote into the image file. On the Canon EOS RP and R7 in HDR mode, the app adds the measured difference and marks it. Note: firmware updates or counter resets may affect the value shown. No software can guarantee that a file comes unaltered from the camera in question: if in doubt, compare the serial number in the report with the camera. Manufacturer figures are tested minimum thresholds, not failure forecasts. CHECK BEFORE YOU BUY ShutterLife can only show the shutter count if your camera writes it into the image file. These cannot be read: DSLRs from Canon and Sony (for example the EOS 5D Mark IV or the Alpha 68), smartphones (iPhone/iPad), most compact cameras, and the Leica M series. They don't store the count in the photo. Some mirrorless models from both brands are covered, the Canon EOS R6 for instance. Only the list below decides: if your model is not on it, we have not tested it. With Nikon, Pentax and Fujifilm it sometimes works anyway; with Canon and Sony, rely on the list only. COUNT AND TESTED THRESHOLD See your shutter count and, next to it, how it relates to the threshold the manufacturer tested for. That threshold is a tested minimum, not a failure forecast: above it the manufacturer simply stopped testing. The figure appears when a confirmed manufacturer rating exists and the counter really tracks actuations. Fujifilm counters track frames instead, so those models show the count without a percentage.
